Sustainability

For many years, Skrivanek has been committed to responsible and ethical business practises.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a process that requires continuous adaptation and improvement. It is not our only goal to generate a profit, but also to meet the increasingly stringent demands of our society and stakeholders in terms of our moral responsibilities and the need for transparency.

In the social field Skrivanek respects the prohibition of discrimination because of sex, race or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation. We also place emphasis on respecting gender equality, particularly with regard to access to employment, working conditions, parental leave, promotion and salary. Another Skrivanek’s priority is to create a pleasant working environment and the associated compliance with occupational safety and health laws.

Skrivanek responds to the needs of employees, their personal development and lifelong learning. For this purpose, a comprehensive program of education and further development of all employees has been developed.

Skrivanek has been supporting and cooperating with NGOs Safety Line Association and the Foundation Our Child.

Skrivanek is not only following these developments closely but also setting the pace to realize them in its daily business life. Our sustainability program follows closely the 10 universal principles of the "UN Global Compact".

The UN Global Compact asks companies to embrace, support and enact, within their sphere of influence, a set of core values in the areas of human rights, labor standards, the environment and anti-corruption:

These 10 principles are divided into four categories:

Human Rights
* Principle 1: Businesses should support and respect internationally-proclaimed human rights; and
* Principle 2: make sure that they themselves are not complicit in human rights abuses.

Labor
* Principle 3: Businesses should uphold freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
* Principle 4: the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labor;
* Principle 5: the effective abolition of child labor; and
* Principle 6: the elimination of discrimination in respect to employment and occupation.

Environment
* Principle 7: Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;
* Principle 8: undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and
* Principle 9: encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

Anti-Corruption
* Principle 10: Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

Skrivanek has been working hard to realize these principles by following very specific and practical guidelines for employees, suppliers and customers alike.
